Global energy company protects sensitive cloud data with Thales encryption<\/h2>\r\n \r\n \r\n

A leading international energy company operating in a highly regulated environment faced the challenge of protecting its sensitive data across multiple platforms while simultaneously migrating its data centres to the cloud.<\/p>\n

The company used hundreds of Microsoft Azure subscriptions with multiple key vaults, which made key management considerably more difficult. It was looking for a vendor-independent solution for centralised management and local storage of keys that supports multi-cloud deployments in accordance with the Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model.<\/p>\n

The goal was to ensure maximum security for business-critical Tier 1 data in order to prevent both external attacks and the possible misuse of administrator rights. In addition, the solution should help to comply with compliance requirements and regulatory requests without losing control of the data.<\/p>\n

Another important criterion was the encryption of productive data without interrupting operations.<\/p>\n
