Make your company Microsoft 365 Copilot-ready!<\/h2>\n \n \n

Microsoft Copilot promises to make your day-to-day work much easier. The digital AI assistant can, for example, design presentations, create summaries or draft emails for you. To do this, Copilot accesses documents, emails and files in Microsoft 365 SharePoint and OneDrive that the user has access to in order to deliver company-specific results.<\/p>\n

What at first glance sounds like a great way to make work easier also harbours a risk: sensitive data can fall into the wrong hands – a nightmare for CISOs and admins.<\/p>\n

Data leakage risk through copilot searches in OneDrive and SharePoint<\/strong><\/p>\n

Copilot also includes information in the search that the user should not actually have access to, but which is nevertheless accessible due to unfavourable sharing configurations. For example, if documents are shared with “everyone” by default.<\/p>\n

Even if other employees in the company do not know about the document and do not receive a direct link, Copilot still has access to it and can read information from the document. With the existing Microsoft tools, it is neither possible to obtain a complete overview of all authorisations assigned in the company, nor to enforce and monitor client-wide release guidelines.<\/p>\n
