What?

This course is designed as a one-day, hands-on workshop to teach IT pros the fundamentals of Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) administration including what it is, the identity principles underpinning it, the primary directory objects they are likely to work with, and key functionalities they are likely to implement in terms of Identity and Access Management (IAM).

Outcomes

This course is meant to prepare delegates to begin to administer and protect their identities with Microsoft Entra ID.

Note: this foundation course will focus on cloud-only identities, whereas hybrid identities and operations such as sync and password writeback will be taught on other courses.

prefer a particular style of course (I.e. wholly or predominantly lab based workshops or immersion experiences) and would ask them to consider their preferred learning style before registration.

Audience

Course Level: 200. Delegates must come with an awareness of Microsoft 365, the Microsoft 365 Admin Centre, and the Microsoft Entra portal. Whilst it is not essential it is ideal if they have previously performed a basic operation such as created a user, or changed a password, or assigned a role or licence

Roles Aimed at: Identity Administrators, Security Administrators, Technical Administrators and Consultants. Those who are interested in Identity, or
Security or looking to grow/expand their knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID or Microsoft services are welcome

This course is not intended for:

  • Users of Microsoft 365
  • Commercialroles with no involvement in identity
  • Administrators who are not involved with identity or security workloads

Prerequisites

  • A modern laptop/desktop. Whilst not essential, dualscreen setup enhances learning to see instructor and materials/labs
  • A modern browser (Edge/Chrome)
  • A good internet connection (wired recommended)
  • Microsoft Teams Installed

This course also has the following requirements:

  • A non-production Microsoft 365 E5 tenant. Labs will be supplied if you cannot meet this requirement.
