As we celebrate 30 years of Infinigate, it’s only fitting that we shine a spotlight on someone who has truly grown alongside the business. This July marks an incredible 32 years for Wayne Hollomby, our longest-serving employee, whose journey reflects not only the evolution of technology, but also the evolution of Infinigate itself.

The beginning of a career in IT

Wayne’s career began straight from school, driven by a natural passion for technology. His first role was in a computer shop building PCs – hands-on, practical work that laid the foundations for what would become a lifelong career in tech innovation.

“Our company was involved in offering free internet services at a time when the concept was still in its infancy! That company later was acquired by Cobweb, which marked the beginning of my career at what eventually become Infinigate Cloud. Through acquisitions and growth including Cobweb, Vuzion and later Infinigate Cloud, my roles ranged from Solution architect, technical architect, professional services consultant to more recently vendor operations and sales.”

Favourite roles & why

At Cobweb, Wayne began as a Technical Architect, a role that remains one of his favourites.“It was exciting, challenging, and new! I was in London visiting where data centres were, configuring systems, and bringing emerging technologies to life. It’s made it easy to stay for over three decades because of the people I work with on the daily, from colleagues to partners and vendors.”

Wayne’s support to Infinigate partners

Today, Wayne works closely with the Avepoint product vendor team within our Infinigate Cloud business, overseeing a wide range of onboarding projects and supporting partners through complex technical journeys. His ability to combine deep technical knowledge with strategic insight makes him an invaluable asset to both the business and customers!
